Momentum Heading into the New Year

I’m going to pursue some ambitious goals in 2026. To give myself momentum, I’m starting to create some daily habits, routines, and practices that will set me up for success heading into 2026.

One of the most fun and creative habits I’ll be building on is daily writing and journaling. And I’m going to explore doing it right here on my website to be able to look back at. This will be writing without using A.I. Unedited. Unfiltered. I’ll use it to document what I did, but also capture thoughts and feelings. I’ll use these as the beginning seeds to ideas that will shape the year.

WOrking out

Today I began working out again in my home garage. I’ll try to show a picture of it later because I’m really proud of how I built it out.

Because of the road trip (i realize i’ll need to explain a lot of things as we go, but the tl;dr here is that we recently completed an 8 month road trip in our truck camper as a family) I didn’t get much working out in. I did manage to run somewhat regularly. Albeit at a lower volume than I was doing previous to the road trip. But that’s okay. I knew going into the road trip that working out would have to take a backseat. So back on the grind. Today I did a 1 hour workout which included running 4 miles on the tread mill and the following exercises. Try not to laugh.

  • Bench press, 95lbs x 10 reps x 3 sets
  • Kettlebettle swings, 40lbs x 25 reps x 3 sets
  • Dumbell Curls, 25lbs x 10 reps x each arm x 3 sets
  • Chest Flys, 16.5lbs x 10 reps x 3 sets
